landlady writing task

‘No, my dear,’ she said. ‘Only you.’

Billy started to feel weak in the knees, he noticed himself slipping up his words and his hands were starting to shake.

The landlady noticed and a small smirk appeared on her fragile, old face.

Billy hadn’t noticed.

“Oh dear, it must be time for you to head off,” she sighed as she stood up and placed her wrinkly hands on Billy’s shoulder.

She seemed to be rushing Billy out fast.

Billy stood up and immediately fell back onto the couch, he held his stomach and began to moan.

“Up you, get chop chop now” she said impatiently.

Billy stood up and began to speed walk out, bumping the landlady on the way.

She turned swiftly with a small frown, he began towards the stairs stumbling for the rails.

Billy grabbed hold of the rail and pulled himself up, heaving each leg up with all his force.

He reached the landing and began to make his way to his room, but from the bottom of the stairs the landlady called, “now why don’t we go up stairs and visit Mr Mulholland and Mr temple, hmm?” she asked, but it seemed more like a demand.

“No thanks, I’m rather tired and I’m feeling a little sick.”

Her eyes turned down and her mouth twitched.

“I think I’ll just go to bed, thanks” he continued before making his way down the corridor.

“No, no but you must come and visit, please” she was begging at this point.

“Sorry but no,” he said in a stern voice.

“Fine but you sure will make it hard for me” she said in frustration

Billy thought of it as strange but was too weak to think of it, so he walked off towards his room that she had so kindly done up for him.

He immediately fell towards the bed, he lay down and groaned clutching his stomach tightly.

He began feeling limp and numb in his feet, slowly it moved to his legs, until it spreaded in his whole body.

And on he went, added to the list with Mr Mulholland and Mr Temple.
